Meet the man born into communism under Leonid Brezhnev, who rose to become a member of the Ontario Provincial Parliament (MPP) under Doug Ford, only to be removed by the Premier from the Ontario government caucus to sit as an independent after calling out the collateral harm of lockdowns in January 2021. Since then, Roman has staunchly advocated for a balanced COVID response, in particular against lockdowns, given their mental & other health toll on Canadians.

Roman was born and raised in the former Soviet Union. He and his family moved to Israel, when he was 8, before immigrating to Canada in 1995, when he was 15. A lawyer by profession, he practiced civil & commercial litigation until his election in 2018. As an MPP, he staunchly advocated for a balanced COVID response and, in particular, against lockdowns due to their mental and overall health toll on Canadians. Roman brought legislation to cut MPP pay to CERB levels while Emergency Orders are in place, commenced and is in litigation against the Attorney General of Ontario over Canadians' right to protest & worship outdoors and recently brought a Bill to outlaw workplace mandates.

Roman is passionate about and is well familiar with justice, transit and autism policy. He's also interested in Bitcoin and occasionally lectures at an after-school program, engaging high school students on constitutional and criminal law topics. During his last year of law school at the University of Western Ontario, Roman was a supervisor with the school's legal aid funded clinic. He loves Canadian kindness, the Toronto Raptors and his special someone, Nancy Marchese.
