Hedy Fry must be feeling the heat as our strength and momentum continues to build.

During a following Q&A Mr. Reynolds, who was a key advisor and supporter for Maxime Bernier during his CPC leadership campaign, revealed what he said when Maxime called Mr. Reynolds the morning after his departure from our Conservative Party.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

VANCOUVER, BC - David Cavey, Conservative Party candidate for Vancouver Centre, gained a key endorsement Tuesday night during a fundraiser in downtown Vancouver.

The Hon. John Reynolds, PC, gave Mr. Cavey his full support, saying, “Vancouver Centre needs an authentic, hard-working representative. David is tough, principled and exactly what’s needed in Ottawa.”

Mr. Reynolds, the former Interim Leader of the Opposition who spent almost four decades in public life, said, “This young man represents the future of common-sense leadership in Canada and will bring fresh ideas to Ottawa when he’s elected.”

Mr. Cavey said the endorsement is significant for him. “Mr. Reynolds was, and is, tremendously respected on all positions of the political spectrum in Canada, yet always remained true to his conservative, common-sense values. I have a huge amount of respect for him and I am humbled by his support. ”

Those attending the event echoed the comments. “David is a strong individual with an impressive resume and, judging by the crowd tonight, it seems he’s gaining momentum in what looks to be a change election,” said guest Joel Harris “He is going to attract people to his campaign.”

Mr. Reynolds continued as MP for his Vancouver-area riding until his retirement at the 2006 federal election. During that campaign, he served as the coordinator of the Conservative campaign in British Columbia.
